About Us

Mathematics – the Musical began as a few songs to help my calculus students learn about finding the derivative. “When Johnny Comes Marching to Find the Derivative” and “Slope of the Tangent Line Rap” were born. The rest, as they say, is history. (Although that – as they also say – is a different “subject”.)

I am a 34 year veteran of teaching. I taught junior high and high school math (and coached) before moving to Denver in 1990 and starting my career at CCD in 1994. I have conducted professional development sessions throughout the country.

My proudest achievements have been through my students successes. Whether breaking through that math barrier or hearing of a student become interested in pursuing math as their own career, that is the reward of teaching.
